WSPFFA Endorses Dan Besse for Lieutenant Governor

Updated On: Apr 26, 2008 (21:24:00)

The Executive Board of the Winston-Salem Professional Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 682, has voted to endorse Dan Besse for Lieutenant Governor. Mr. Besse received this vote of confidence after a review of his voting record regarding firefighters and public safety during his tenure as a Winston-Salem City Council member.

In making the announcement of the endorsement, Local President Ed Duffield made the following statement: "Dan Besse has always been there for the firefighters in Winston-Salem. He has spoken up for us during the budget process, ensuring we have the equipment and staffing we need to provide a high level of service for the citizens and that our firefighters are adequately compensated for their dangerous profession. At the same time, he has been a good steward of the public tax dollar. The vital needs of the citizens always receive thoughtful consideration from Dan Besse."
